Why does your dog deserve a photoshoot?

Murphy’s owner Kerry says … “I will never think of Murphy as just my pet”

Murphy the black Labrador from Horsham was brought for a dog photography experience in Loxwood this September. We were capturing what makes him so special to his owner and the feeling behind that bond.

“He is such a huge part of my life! We share the love of the beach, going on long dog countryside walks and getting coffee’s and pup cups on a Sunday morning. We’ve been through so much together and with every life decision I have made, I have always made sure to put his needs at the heart of it, because to me, his happiness will always matter. I always say that he would swap me out for chicken any day of the week, but then the way he greets me at the door, snuggles up to me on the sofa, follows my every move and always wants to be wherever I am, makes me think that maybe I mean more to him than chicken does!“

Dogs don’t live as long as we want them to, their time with us is a brief, beautiful chapter but we are their entire story.

They have been there when relationships have shifted, jobs have changed and addresses updated. They are your constant in life.

They are your quiet comfort On the days when the world feels overwhelming, they rest their head on your knee and look at you with uncritical acceptance. They don’t expect you to have it altogether, or demand explanations.

They hold your secrets How many quiet conversations have you had with your dog when no one else is around? They are the ultimate confidants - loyal listeners who never judge and never tell.

They ground you in your present As humans, we worry about yesterday and stress about tomorrow but a dog is living in the present, wanting to play or cuddle up.

What Kerry had to say about Murphy’s studio session:

“I would recommend Sara to absolutely everyone I know! She has such pure talent and it shows across in her photography, her presence with people and her natural love for dogs, making the shoot a perfect experience. My dog Murphy adores Sara (and the treats that come with a shoot!), he feels so comfortable in the studio, because he is made to feel at home, with plenty of time to explore and have a sniff around before and during the session. Thank you so much Sara for such beautiful photos of my boy”
